About the Artist

Jennifer Valenzuela is a visual artist who engages in oil painting, resin, and installation.  She holds a BFA in studio painting, a BA in Liberal Studies, National Boards for Teaching, k-8 multi subjects credential as well as an Art Education credential from San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley in California. Originally from OR she has had the opportunity to live in San Francisco for more than a decade as well as launch her art career there.

She relocated to Maui, HI in 2008 where she creates in her upcountry studio and raises her two sons. Her works have been exhibited in venues such as The MOAH, Lancaster LA , The Schaefer International Gallery (Kahului, HI), The Kahilu Theater (Big Island, Hawaii), The Hui No’eau (Makawao, HI), The Wailoa Art Center (Hilo, HI), Light Rails studio (San Francisco, CA) as well as a variety of galleries throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Mainland, USA. She has received many exhibition awards and purchases, including an acquisition by the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture in the Arts. Jennifer continues to be an active contributor to the creative community in Hawaii.
