About the Piece

“At 3:00 PM I looked down from the highlands of Holu’aloa on the western coast of the Big Island. The sky shown a light signaling the beginning of twilight. The brightness of the sky struck me. Also, the intensity of sunlight, and the long linear shapes of the clouds, stunned me. The colors had a quality of sublime lightness.”
