From the artist-
“As I began making environmental paintings I felt compelled to return to the lovely places I experienced as a youth. I took my children to those same places and experienced them from a different perspective. My paintings are infused with the memories of my childhood and the memories of my own children’s youth as well. There is a sweetness to those memories that I hope you will find in your own reflections.
I am from Maunalua and Mānoa. Before moving home with my wife in 2003 to raise my daughter (and then, son) I lived and worked in San Francisco and New York as a commercial illustrator.

This small series describes Mānoa stream as it flows from the mountains and lower falls into residential neighborhoods; and how its natural bed and path are altered and widened, the depth of its waters diminished by channels and culverts.”
