As we open the Honolulu Woodturners 2018 show at our new home at Kahala Mall, here’s a look back. Thank you so much Honolulu Woodturners for being such wonderful partners for so many years!
Prior – 2016 Update: the show was a success, with proceeds for Family Promise yielding lots of support for their work and many beautiful turned wood items in new homes. In 2017 we will be hosting the show in a new way, as our home at Ward Warehouse will be closing at the end of July. The new location/s will be announced soon!
What follows is the 2016 Honolulu Woodturners page. We continue to show these artists and welcome you to the shop to browse more work than is posted here.
The 2016 Honolulu Woodturners Demonstration at Nohea Gallery opens on August 20th at Ward Warehouse. Three lathes with nine total turners will demonstrate the art of woodturning. The Kapakahi Jug Band with Bart Potter on slide guitar and Duane Preble on pakini bass will entertain us all with swinging tunes.
This year, a selected group of vessels will be sold with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Family Promise of Hawaii, a group that helps homeless families with housing and other needs.
Enjoy an incredible assortment of beautiful local woods, carefully crafted into bowls, pens, hurricane lamps and decor, and kokua the community. This is a great time to set aside some terrific gifts for upcoming special occasions too!
We’re updating this page with images as time permits. Meanwhile, some highlights follow. See you on August 20th!
