Oahu craftsman, Carl Sherry was born and raised in Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu. He attended Honolulu Community College and spent his adult life conducting job training. Many people remember him with aloha for his support and kokua.
Carl creates quality woodturnings of Hawaiian woods. He is especially known for his fine finish. As an artist, he strives to make “that perfect bowl” and appreciates that others enjoy his work.
His first project was a Koa rocking chair. People then asked Carl to make pens from the extra cast-off curly wood, which he then learned to turn pens on a lathe. He naturally progressed to making bowls from there
