Nā Koʻolau, 22 artists reflect on the Ko'olau mountains

Nā Koʻolau, a show of original art celebrating Oahu’s Ko’olau mountain range and the watershed it protects. Inspired by Kumu Hula ʻIlima’s Stern’s mele and hula, Aloha ʻIa Nō Nā Koʻolau.

First verse:

A Koʻolau Loa ma Kalaeohipa
Inu ā kena mai ka kūpuna.
Ma Kaipapaʻu,
Hele wāwae I ka wai helekū.
Ma Kapuaʻi okana,
Pī wai ʻoluʻolu me ka wai anuhea.

In Koʻolauloa at Kalaeohipa,
Quench your thirst at Kū’s spring.
At Kaipapaʻu, wade in the shallow water.
At Kapuaʻi okana,
Refresh yourself with the cool water.
