Puffer Fish Ceramic Wall Sculpture by Rochelle Lum

About the piece:

This piece comes from Rochelle Lum’s series of anthropomorphized domestic animal characters fashioned in ceramic sculpture. Her pieces from this collection take on almost a storybook quality as the animals dawn innocent and content expressions. Each piece is fired, has a soft glaze finish and is hand-painted. This particular piece can be hung on the wall of your home or office to be enjoyed by all. 1

From the Artist:

“Ceramics is my passion, breathing life into clay is my desire. My hand built sculptures are inspired by the flora and fauna of Hawaii and the folktales, legends and mythology of Hawaii and Asia.

I received a B.A. in Art Technique/Fine Arts from Mills College in Oakland, CA with post graduate work in Art Education.

Currently, I teach hand building classes and workshops at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, Hawaii Potters’ Guild and Hickam Arts and Crafts.

As a ceramic artist I participate in solo, juried and group exhibitions throughout the U.S. and Asia.” –Rochelle Lum
